ANGELLIST: YEAR IN REVIEW – 2018
In 2018, we reached over $1 billion in assets under management, supported two million candidates in their job search, and helped makers launch over 20,000 products that will define the future of tech. Over 75% of startups that announced seed funding from leading U.S. investors in the last two years have raised, recruited, or launched on AngelList or Product Hunt. We can't wait to share what we're building next.
ANGELLIST: Congrats on your ipo, Uber!
In 2010, a company called UberCab raised a seed round with 5 investors on AngelList via email. Since then, Uber has hired on AngelList Talent and launched its rider app on Product Hunt. Uber’s alumni are now investing in the next generation of great entrepreneurs with Moving Capital, the Uber-alumni syndicate on AngelList. Congrats – thanks for allowing us to be a part of your journey!
WALL STREET JOURNAL: Scout Programs Spread in Silicon Valley
AngelList, a popular site for angel investing, recently weighed in with a scout alternative offering that aims to make it easier for passive investors to get into angel-scouted deals. Instead of getting their own scouts, venture firms like Accomplice, Bain Capital Ventures and Crosslink Capital have backed AngelList’s funds in nonexclusive arrangements. Mr. Deshpande says Bain is able to gain access to early-stage opportunities through AngelList, which he says makes clear which firms are putting money behind a particular scout or angel.
